Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Eating Disorders

No trainings to show

Description

Eating disorders are complicated physical and mental illnesses that can have devastating effects.  Due to the severity of these disorders, treatment requires highly specialized care in order to work toward decreased symptomatology.  Cognitive-behavioral therapy- enhanced (CBT-E) is the current transdiagnostic evidence-based treatment for adults struggling with eating disorders. This presentation will provide an introduction to CBT-E theory, a phase-by-phase outline of the CBT-E protocol, and an overview of specific clinical skills and procedures used in the treatment.  This presentation is geared toward clinicians with all levels of experience treating patients with eating disorders and those that are new to the treatment.  Following this presentation, attendees should have an understanding of the CBT-E protocol, how to access additional resources and training opportunities, and what to expect when referring patients to specialized eating disorder treatment.
