Sweetser offers Private Non-Medical Institution (PNMI) and Transitional Aged Youth Residential Services for Adults.

PNMI

Our PNMI program has residences in Topsham and Belfast, and serves adults with major mental illness. These services are designed to build skills for a successful transition to independent and/or less supportive living environment.

The focus is on increasing independence and self-sufficiency, including functional skills, increasing self-understanding, crisis prevention and self-management.

Transitional Aged Youth

Our residential program services young adults in Maine aged 18-24, who have experienced childhood trauma or system involvement, such as foster care or in the criminal justice system.

Located on our Saco Campus, the program treats mental health challenges, prevents homelessness, and gives young Mainers a successful foundation to draw upon when they live on their own.
